Cabane des Maurets

Cabane des Maurets (also spelled Cabane des Maourets) is an unguided pastoral-style backcountry cabin in the Ariège Pyrenees above Couflens, at about 1,890 m. It’s a small shelter for overnight use with a chimney and water nearby.

Use is typically on a first-come, first-served basis (no booking), and local priority may apply to shepherds. Sleeping space is very limited (roughly 4 to 8 places), so plan for a rudimentary stop rather than a staffed refuge.
