Alpine hut

Cabane d'Haou is an unguided pastoral hut in the Couserans area (around 1,370 m). It’s designed for short stays, with sleeping for up to about 5 people using a single mattress, plus a basic interior layout built around a large wooden table, two benches, and a fireplace.

Plan on self-sufficiency: there’s no stove, and there’s no latrine. Interior furnishings include a very old mattress on the upper level, and the ground-floor room is clean; the upper floor can be dirty and may require sweeping before use. Water is available within about 100 m of the hut, but there’s no electricity and no other modern services.

Access is from the hiking route heading toward the Port d'Urets from the Bocard d'Eylie; the hut is on the right side of the path when ascending toward Port d'Urets. Because the hut is unguided (not managed), use is free and first-come, first-served—carry your own sleeping setup (a tent/bivy is a smart backup if the mattress area is occupied).
