Cabane du Cheval Blanc

Cabane du Cheval Blanc is a non-stewarded backcountry hut in the pre-alps near Montagne du Cheval Blanc, typically used in summer by shepherds during the estive. It sleeps 7 people and is equipped with a stove and basic furnished areas (tables and benches).

Inside, sleeping is on stacked bench platforms, with wood stored in a small reserve intended to be used sparingly; bring what you need for a stove-ready night. There is no fireplace provided, and there are no showers or latrines for the hut.

Access from Château-Garnier is via a marked approach (yellow/red and yellow paint). One practical water option is to head for the local source area just below the shelter, reachable on foot from the hut area. Use is on a first-come, first-served basis with no booking system.
