Cabane du Jasset
Cabane du Jasset is a small backcountry shelter at about 1,499 m in the Préalpes de Digne area. It’s unmanaged and used on a free-access, first-come-first-served basis (no guardian and no reservation system).
The hut is very rustic and geared to basic sheltering: it provides limited sleeping space for up to 2 people, and includes a stove. There is no fireplace provided, no electricity, and no running water; water is typically obtained from a stream roughly 100 m downhill.
Overnight stays are for emergency/pastoral-cabin use—plan to be self-sufficient. Bring your own water treatment and what you’ll need for sleeping, warm layers, and fuel/repair essentials suitable for a very basic shelter setup.
Cabane du Jasset also comes up as an overnight stop along the route that connects toward the Grande et Petite cloches-de-barles area (the hut is reached via the long piste/track and a connecting path in that terrain).
