Cabane du Lac du Lurien
Cabane du Lac du Lurien (2110 m) is an unstaffed hunters’ cabin in the Lurien basin area, intended as shelter in bad weather rather than a serviced refuge. Inside, it offers mattresses and minimal furnishings, with a basic “cabin” layout that can work for emergency overnight use.
Sleep is limited: the shelter is planned for about 10 places, primarily using mattresses and floor space. There’s no fireplace provided, and no stove information is given, so plan on cooking and heating strategies accordingly.
Approach is along the Lurien valley route tied to the area near the Fabrèges dam—one described access starts from the road at the Fabrèges lake area, then follows a path up the vallon of Lurien toward the col/summit area; the cabin is hard to miss once on the right line. It’s also reachable from the Artouste area via the Col du Lurien, and from nearby Lurien-side routes such as from Cabane du Caillou de Soques via the Col d’Arrious and Lac d’Artouste.
