Cabane Du Mont Dondon

Cabane Du Mont Dondon is a small, unstaffed wilderness hut in the Belledonne area, used for self-sufficient overnight trips. It sits at about 1,425 m elevation and is built for groups sleeping on simple platforms/mattresses with a wood stove for heat and basic cooking.

The shelter is rustic: there’s no running water, and the closest water is a stream a short walk beyond the hut. Sleeping is limited (around 8 places total), and while there is stove equipment, the stove and flue/roofing fittings have been in poor condition—bring a plan for cold nights and carry your own emergency supplies. Use is first-come, first-served with no bed reservation system.
