Cabane du Rieutort

Cabane du Rieutort is an unmanaged backcountry shelter in the Rieutort valley east of Étang de Laparan (Haute-Ariège). It’s a small stone hut with a simple interior focused on basic overnight use rather than comfort, at about 1,825 m elevation.

The hut sleeps 4 people (on two mattresses) with a fireplace. Use is free and there’s no custodian or reservation system—plan for first-come, first-served availability and bring out all your own trash. There’s a fireplace, but wood/fire management is on you: plan to carry what you need or be ready to obtain it locally as described for the site.
