Cabane du Troumas

Cabane du Troumas is a small, free backcountry pastoral hut in the Ariège Pyrenees (around 1,500 m). It’s kept as a shelter rather than a serviced refuge: basic interior furnishings include a table, benches, and a fireplace, with sleeping space on the upper floor (including several mattresses/blankets available there).

Use is first-come, first-served with no booking system, and the hut can be occupied by a shepherd during summer. Bring your own plan for overnight if you arrive to find it full, and note there is no stove and no water available right at the hut; expect to source water elsewhere on the approach (the nearby forest/area is close).
