Cabane Loubère

Cabane Loubère is a free, unstaffed pastorale hut in the French Pyrenees (Ariège) for hikers using backcountry routes. It has space for 4 people and includes a fireplace; the interior has a packed-earth floor, and the upper level flooring is in decent shape but very dusty. Expect a very rustic setup rather than serviced accommodation.

Sleeping is on old metal bed frames (no mattresses), so bring a sleeping bag. the hut is open (cabane non gardée) with first-come, first-served use—no reservations are available. Water is available nearby from mountain outflows within about 100 m when you’re heading back down toward the marked path.
