Cabane pastorale de Lignin

Cabane pastorale de Lignin is a shepherd’s dwelling on the Lignin plateau above the Lacs de Lignin, used during the summer grazing season. The accommodation is not set up for hikers to book typical refuge-style beds; when it’s staffed by the shepherd, it functions as a working pastoral facility rather than tourist lodging.

The hut is generally rented to the shepherd during the estive period (mid-June to late October). Outside of that season it’s generally closed and unstaffed; plans to overnight should be based on the specific summer window and the local rules of the Parc national du Mercantour area. Access is on foot via the hiking trails on the Lignin plateau, and the cabin is close to the Lacs de Lignin.
