Cabane pastorale de l'Orgeas

Cabane pastorale de l'Orgeas is a working pastoral hut at 1887 m in the Thorame-Haute area, primarily intended for herders during the summer grazing season. It sleeps 6 on mattresses and includes a large table and benches for use inside and outside.

For provisions and shelter utility: the hut has a wood stove and is powered by solar with a battery (switched on by an inverter upstairs). There’s also outdoor seating (table and benches) and a stone BBQ area. Electricity and water can be inconsistent in winter—there’s a large cistern that collects rainwater, a kitchen sink and tap indoors, and a nearby water point (within about 100 m) in the valley, plus wood available around the hut.
