Cabane pastorale de Rougnouse Haute

Cabane pastorale de Rougnouse Haute (2050 m) is a shepherd’s pastoral cabin in the Rougnouse area, used during the summer grazing season by the shepherd. It is not set up for public accommodation and is kept as a working/occupied cabin rather than a reservable backcountry refuge.

The cabin is well equipped when accessible: an enclosed cooking setup (gas stove), table and seating, basic tools (including a saw), heating (stove/solid heating), and an upstairs sleeping area with mattresses. Sleeping is limited (5 places on mattresses; 4 beds). A solar panel provides lighting when needed.

A bathtub is in front of the cabin, and there is a water supply system that feeds water from a higher intake down to the cabin (with a note that in winter the connection is disconnected about 50 m above the cabin, letting water run freely downslope for easier filling at the pipe).
