Cabane pastorale du Gourgot

Cabane pastorale du Gourgot is a shepherd-focused backcountry shelter near Appy (Ariège). It’s a newer structure used primarily during the pastoral season for the local shepherd, with a very small area intended for hikers; that hikers’ portion is still not finished and serves mainly as a storage space.

Use is primarily practical and auxiliary: the shelter’s visitor space is small and functions as a shed rather than a fully equipped hikers’ refuge. Plan to be self-sufficient, since the site is reserved for the shepherd and the hiking side is not yet set up for comfortable overnight use.
