Cabane pastorale d'Urduas "Le Louch"

Cabane pastorale d'Urduas “Le Louch” is a traditional shepherd’s hut used as basic backcountry shelter near the Pic de la Calabasse area (around 1,550 m). It’s generally intended for shepherd use, and the hut has been as closed and reserved for shepherds during the grazing season, so treat it as potentially unavailable at peak times.

Use is free and it is not a staffed refuge. Sleeping is limited—typically a small number of places on mattresses (often quoted as 2 to 4 when tight). Inside, you’ll find a table and seating, and there is a fireplace; there’s no running water. A nearby flowing water source exists, but it may be polluted in summer grazing periods, so plan to filter/treat before drinking.
