Chalet de la Perrière

Chalet de la Perrière is a non-guarded mountain shelter on the GR® 738 (“la Haute traversée de Belledonne”) in the Belledonne massif, near the pied des Grands Moulins (2495 m). It operates open access with no reservations—sleeping places are first-come, first-served—so plan to arrive early if you want a spot.

The hut provides 18 sleeping places on mattresses, plus a wood stove, tables/benches, and basic cooking items (casseroles and cutlery). There are blankets, dry toilets outside, and a water source right by the refuge; lighting is via a solar setup with USB charging available. The refuge is run on a voluntary contribution to help with upkeep, and it is often maintained by local associations for ongoing access.
