Chalet domanial de la Vrille
Chalet domanial de la Vrille (altitude 850 m) is a non-staffed backcountry shelter in the Vosges, within the Réserve biologique dirigée de Longegoutte. Use is first-come, first-served with no booking; it’s intended as a basic refuge where you plan around sleeping on your own gear rather than relying on furnished bedding.
Inside, there’s a wood stove (“brûle feuilles”) with two tisonniers, plus a table and benches. For food/comfort, there’s also a frying pan and a broom listed for the hut. A water point is about 800 m away, and there’s no mattress/bed setup (0 places on mattresses).
Access is described from Vécoux: go to the locality of Reherray, then choose one of two approaches—toward Hanaupré and on foot up to the Pré Biot, or toward Chaudefontaine (reachable by car) and on foot via the Tête de l’Avuxon toward la Vrille.
