Chalet du Poste Optique

Chalet du Poste Optique is a small, unstaffed backcountry hut in the Belledonne area (Savoie), used as a basic shelter. It sleeps about 4–6 people, with sleeping on straw, and it has a table and benches inside.

The hut has a wood stove with emergency firewood. There is no electricity; water is not at the hut, and the typical plan is to refill nearby (there’s a stream a short distance down). Use is free on a first-come, first-served basis—no reservation is taken.
