Christiania Hut

Christiania Hut is a 32-bed lodge operated by Christiania Ski Club on the Whakapapa Ski Field on Mt. Ruapehu. It runs throughout the ski season and serves as a base for skiing and snowboarding days, with a resident custodian during the season for breakfasts and dinners.

The lodge has a drying room for ski and board gear, plus a lounge with fireplace and a bar area. Members typically help with a short daily duty (about 20 minutes), and lunch is available on a self-help basis during the day.

Booking is handled through the club’s online booking system, with paid-up members getting priority and discounted rates. Guests can stay, but they must be accompanied by a senior member; group and school bookings are accepted only on a limited basis, and winter days are catered with custodian-provided meals (self-help for lunch).
