Épervier

Épervier is the wilderness hut (Chalet l’Épervier) used as a backcountry stop on the Charlevoix traverse in Quebec’s Charlevoix region. It sits on the 6th and 7th stages between Coyote and the next segment (Jour 6 : Coyote – Épervier).

Bookings are made through the Traversée de Charlevoix program, where reservations are mandatory for traverse use. Day hikers and thru-hikers follow the program’s on-site registration/check-in workflow; for regular day-hike logistics, registration is mandatory with the organizers, and thru-hike booking is mandatory.

On this hut-to-hut traverse, the hut system supports carrying only a day pack: luggage transfers are used, and drinking water refills are part of the operation. Meals are handled via the traverse meal system rather than requiring independent meal planning for the full multi-day itinerary; water is still collected/boiled at the huts using the stoves provided there.
