Geai Bleu

Geai Bleu is a SÉPAQ backcountry hut in the Pimbina–Saint-Donat area. It’s a rustic shelter used by hikers and cross-country skiers in backcountry conditions.

For stays on the Traversée de Charlevoix long-distance route, the shelter is reserved for thru-hikers, and it’s typically only accessible if you’re doing the complete crossing or the half crossing; otherwise, same/near-term bookings can be possible (within 48 hours or less) if you contact them to arrange it.

The shelter setup includes a slow combustion stove and firewood, plus cooking gear (including pots/pans and tableware), mattresses, dry composting toilets, and basic disinfecting/sanitation items. There’s no running water in the shelter area; use streams/lakes nearby and treat water (filter, tablets, or boiling).

As a guest, you should plan to bring your own sleeping bag and essential personal items like dish towels and toilette paper, along with matches/fire-starter (or newspaper for fire-starting). In winter, water access requires extra preparation: you’ll need an axe to make a hole in ice or melt snow.
