Ex-Maison forestière de Plan-Bas

Ex-Maison forestière de Plan-Bas is a small, unmanaged backcountry refuge at about 1850 m on the GR 56 in the Ubaye valley (Méolans-Revel). It works as an open bivouac: no reservation is required, and use is first-come, first-served.

Inside, there’s room for around 1 matress (with places for only a few people). The refuge includes a wood stove and dry toilets, plus a basic interior layout with two rooms; firewood supply may be limited, so plan accordingly. Bring your own sleeping setup and follow the take-your-trash-out routine to keep the hut usable.
