Gardner Hut

Gardner Hut is part of the Rendezvous Huts system in Washington’s Methow Valley, set up for backcountry-style hut stays reached from the groomed Nordic trail network. It’s a wilderness hut shelter with a central location in the trail system, making it the system’s most popular stop, and it’s described as the roomiest hut in the group.

Inside, Gardner Hut has a propane cook stove/oven and a wood stove for heat, plus sleeping pads. The hut uses an outhouse for toilets, and water is handled via the hut service model (including a gear/freight haul option so guests don’t have to carry heavy loads from the trailhead).

For planning, the hut system uses reservations handled through Methow Reservations, and a deposit is charged within 24 hours of the reservation beginning with the winter 2024–25 season. The hut’s stay model is seasonally timed around winter access by cross-country ski trails and is booked as an overnight cabin-style reservation.
