Garfield Ridge Campsite Shelter
Garfield Ridge Campsite Shelter is an Appalachian Mountain Club backcountry shelter on the Appalachian Trail’s Garfield Ridge Trail, below the summit of Mount Garfield in New Hampshire. It’s a 12-person Adirondack-style shelter plus seven 4-person tent platforms, with a composting privy, a dishwashing area, and bear-proof food storage boxes for overnight use.
The site is staffed by a caretaker during the summer months, and the stay runs on a first-come, first-served basis (no advance booking for this specific campsite). The fee is $15 per person per night, collected by the on-site caretaker when present; a nearby spring provides water that must be treated before drinking.
