Gite d'Étape d'Eylie

Gite d'Étape d'Eylie is a backcountry mountain hut at about 1000 m in the Couserans, used as a stopover for walkers on the GR10 and for the Tour du Biros and Pass'Aran routes. The hut is run by Elsa Taranne, centered on the hamlet of Eylie d’en haut (09800 Sentein).

It sleeps about 14–18 people in shared dormitories (two dorms), and it operates seasonally from May through September (with the hut’s own page stating 5 May to 30 September). Use is by reservation; there is no automated online booking system, so you secure a stay by calling or emailing the hut manager. Drinking water is available on site, and half-board is offered as a dining option (dinner + breakfast).

For sleeping, you need your own sleeping bag or liner (a blanket is provided). On site there’s a free water fountain and shared indoor spaces for meals; cash and cheque payment are supported, and an advance deposit is requested to hold a booking. Nearby, the hut sits directly on the GR10 so it functions as a practical overnight base while traversing the valley routes around the area.
