Route Details

Grassy Hut is a Kootenay Mountaineering Club backcountry cabin (wilderness hut) built to support overnight use in the Grassy Mountain horseshoe. The hut sleeps up to 6 people and is operated as a reservation-required public hut at $25 per person per night, with a 2-night maximum stay per booking. Inside are loft-style sleeping space (no foam mattresses), a dining table, benches/chairs, and a wood stove; there’s also a two-burner propane cook stove that requires bringing your own 1 lb propane bottles. Basic cooking utensils are stored in a cupboard, and there’s a basic solar lighting system that you’ll need to supplement with your own headlamp/LED lights.
