La station orbitale

La station orbitale is a peri-urban art refuge in the Bordeaux area, designed around a labyrinth-like structure entered via a ramp. Inside, it’s arranged around a central space with fold-down benches and ceiling hatches that lead to multiple capsule modules, and the higher level uses roof-terrace exits up to a lookout platform roughly 6 m above the ground.

Use is free for a single night (maximum 1 night per booking). It’s open from March 1 to November 30, and the refuge sleeps up to 11 people. Comfort is basic: there’s no running water or electricity, so plan to bring your own water, light, and a sleep system. Booking is handled through Bordeaux Métropole’s refuges portal, and reservations are required.
