Local hors gardiennage du refuge de Terre Rouge is the self-serve winter room annex at Refuge de Terre Rouge in Valmeinier. It sits at the back of the main building and is used when the refuge is not staffed (when the main refuge is unguarded).

Sleep access is sized for small parties: the room provides 4 beds, with a sink and toilet inside, plus basic kitchen equipment including gas and a table. The night rate is €10, deposited in the provided box, and stays operate without advance reservation for this annex on a first-come, first-served basis.

Access: in summer, plan about 1h30 on foot from the parking at the Chenalette (1747 m). In winter, plan roughly 3 hours by ski de randonnée from the starting area at Valmeinier/near Grange bernard, depending on your approach line.
