MacKeith Hut

MacKeith Hut is an Alaska Alpine Club backcountry hut in the Delta Range, associated with the former name Upper Canwell Glacier Hut. The hut is part of a system of three Delta Range huts (Thayer, Lower Canwell, and MacKeith) that are available on a first-come, first-served basis with the doors unlocked.

Use is geared to glacier travel: the Canwell Glacier has crevasses and moulons near the hut, and parties may need to be roped up to reach it safely. Expect route-finding requirements (good visibility or GPS helps), and be prepared for active glacier hazards on approach.
