Nancy Lake #2 Cabin
Nancy Lake #2 Cabin is a State of Alaska public-use wilderness cabin in the Nancy Lake State Recreation Area. It’s a 16' x 20' cabin reached by a short, signed approach from the Nancy Lake Public-Use Cabin Trailhead at Mile 1.8 of the Nancy Lake Parkway, with a 1/3-mile trek to the cabin. Summer access is by hike, boat, or float plane; winter access is by ski or snowmachine (snowmobile openings are announced when there’s sufficient snow cover to protect underlying vegetation). ATVs are prohibited.
Inside, it’s set up for backcountry stays with wooden bunk beds and a storage loft, plus a wood-burning stove and an outdoor fire ring and picnic table. The cabin has a 5-night stay limit; it accommodates 6 guests at maximum and allows 1 guest minimum. Pets are permitted but must be kept under control and waste must be packed out. Use is by reservation through ReserveAmerica/State of Alaska public-use cabin reservations; plan to bring your own supplies—sleeping bag and pad (or air mattress), food and cookware, stove and fuel, matches/lighters/fire starter, a 9-volt battery for smoke detectors, first-aid items, trash bags, a jug of water, and a saw or axe if needed—plus your own firewood (wood is provided by bringing your own).
