Old Warming Hut

Old Warming Hut is a small heated shelter at the Birch Hill Recreation Area used for cross-country skiing and warming up at the Jim Whisenhant Ski Trails. It’s operated by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks and is open 24 hours a day, year-round. The hut has indoor space for a small gathering and includes bathrooms.

Drop-in use is free and there’s no booking or reservation required. For day-to-day use it’s first-come, first-served, but larger events (over 15 people) may need a formal facility use agreement; follow the park’s general facility-event rules for exclusive use situations.
