Pavillon de la Grand Combe

Pavillon de la Grand Combe is an unmanaged backcountry shelter (cabane non gardée) at about 1,260 m in the Massif des Bauges. Use is free and it has no official reservation system—plan on first-come, first-served use.

The hut sits on the edge of the forest track in the Réserve nationale de chasse et de faune sauvage des Bauges, with access rules that restrict how you camp: no motor vehicles, no bivouacking, and no camping (outside designated zones). Bring your own sleeping gear and supplies.

There’s no tap water at the shelter itself. The nearest listed water is the Source du Plan du Tour area down the path, and you should treat water before drinking.
