Poplar Hut

Poplar Hut is a backcountry overnight cabin in the Maine Huts & Trails network. It’s set up for winter and shoulder-season trips, with overnight stays available by reservation in advance.

Access to Poplar Hut is along the Maine Hut Trail system starting at the Airport Trailhead in Carrabassett Valley: follow the trail into the woods, cross the Carrabassett River via the footbridge, and continue to reach the hut via one of the junction options described on the route. Overnight guests can also use the commercial-grade kitchen during self-service periods, and the hut network supports multiple non-motorized activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing depending on season.
