Ptarmigan Creek Shelter

Ptarmigan Creek Shelter is a basic backcountry shelter cabin on the Pinnell Mountain National Recreation Trail in interior Alaska, sited in a saddle just below Pinnell Mountain. It’s intended primarily for emergency use and day-use sheltering, with no recreation-reservation process.

Use is first-come, first-served. The cabin has a water catchment system to collect rain and melting snow, but water should be treated before cooking or drinking.
