Racemans Hut

Racemans Hut (also known as Glen Roy Raceman's Hut) is a small backcountry hut in the Remarkables Conservation Area, run by the Department of Conservation. It’s an historic 2-bunk hut intended for parties who can navigate independently: there is no DOC track access to the hut, so plan your route and use map, compass, and GPS for the approach.

Use is free and no booking is required—accommodation is first come, first served. The hut has pit latrine toilets, but there’s no drinking water and no fireplace provided, so bring your own supplies.
