Rainbow Trout Cabin
Rainbow Trout Cabin is an Alaska State Parks public-use wilderness cabin at Eklutna Lake, just south of the Dolly Varden Cabin. It’s a 16' x 20' log cabin with a sleeping loft, wooden bunks, and a wood-burning stove; the cabin is set up with a picnic table, benches, and a fire ring, plus a pit outhouse.
The cabin sleeps up to 8 people, with a 3-night stay limit. Reservations are made through Reserve America, and stays cost $100 per night (plus a non-refundable $5 Reserve America transaction fee). Minimum stay is 1 guest.
Summer access is by a short walk or bike from year-round parking (about 650 yards). Winter access is by foot, ski, or snowshoe, with vehicle access limited at the campground access gate; plan to sled or walk gear in.
