Refuge Arago

Refuge Arago (Refugi d'Aragó) is a small, unmanned backcountry refuge on the route around Pic du Canigó, sitting at about 2,123 m. It was completely refurbished and re-equipped in 2016, and it’s set up as a compact roadside stone cabane with sleeping platforms, shelves, and a stove/wood-burning option inside.

Expect first-come, first-served use with no advance reservation system. Capacity is tight (5 people), and there is no fireplace. There is water nearby (within about 100 m), and you can also bivouac close to the hut if you find it full.
