Refuge d'Ambin
Refuge d'Ambin is a backcountry hut in the Mont-Cenis area, operated by Club Alpin Français at 2,270 m in the commune of Bramans (Haute-Maurienne). It offers 30 beds for multi-day hiking circuits in the high valleys near the Italian border.
The hut is managed seasonally, with guided guardian presence in summer; outside the guarded period, it can be used on a self-service basis with payment after your stay. Winter maintenance periods and specific non-managed closures for works are posted by the operator for the coming season. During non-guarded use, a 16-person dormitory area (with blankets) remains available along with the dining room; the hut has no water and no phone network. For sanitary matters, toilets are located in a stone tower overlooking the valley rather than inside the main hut area.
