Refuge d'Arbarétan

Refuge d'Arbarétan is a small municipal, unstaffed backcountry shelter (cabane non gardée) in the commune of Saint-Alban d'Hurtières, used as a free overnight stop in the Belledonne area. It sits at 1,812 m, and the sleeping area takes up to 14 people on mattresses (with an upstairs sleeping layout).

Inside, you’ll find a wood stove, a table and benches, and a stocked basic cooking setup (plus kitchen utensils). There are latrines on-site. Drinking water is seasonal; when the fountain is running it’s available very close to the building. Use is first-come, first-served (no reservation), and overnight use is free; plan on bringing your trash out and conserving the firewood.
