Refuge de Caïssenols Le Haut

Refuge de Caïssenols Le Haut is a free, unstaffed backcountry refuge in the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc, used by hikers as an autonomous stop on the GRP Tour de la Montagne du Haut Languedoc. Use is first-come, first-served with no reservations taken.

The refuge is built over three levels and includes a vaulted cellar, a main room with a fireplace, and a dormitory on the upper floor; there’s also a bread oven. Capacity is about 6 people, and it has a place for sleeping, a table, and outdoor benches; plan to arrive fully self-sufficient with your own water and sleeping gear.
