Refuge de la Calme nord
Refuge de la Calme nord is a small backcountry hut in the Catalan Pyrenees used for overnight stays in summer hike seasons and for winter ski/snowshoe traffic. It has space for up to 4 people and includes an indoor wood-burning fireplace, plus basic cooking and shelter gear such as a table and benches, cookware and hooks for hanging it, cleaning tools, coat hooks, and a small woodcutting setup (goat/chopping aid) with seasonal wood storage inside the shelter.
Plan for self-sufficiency: there are no mattresses inside, and you’ll need to bring your own sleeping system. Access is by a roughly 40-minute approach from the Parking de la Calme in Font-Romeu (on foot or skis depending on the season). For stays, contact the warden directly by phone to arrange your visit rather than relying on a centralized online booking system.
