Refuge de la Croix de Pierre
Refuge de la Croix de Pierre is a backcountry alpine hut on Col du Very (about 2000 m) in the Beaufortain massif, with lodging and meals available on site. It sits between the Savoie departments facing Mont-Blanc, and access is possible from Col des Saisies, Hauteluce, and Megève (on foot, and also by VTT or horseback).
The refuge’s operating season runs from late May to mid-September (opening Friday 29 May to 13 September 2026, plus weekend openings on 18/20 and 25/27 September 2026). Bivouac is allowed under conditions tied to restaurant consumption, and you’re also told to descend to a nearby chalet if you need water because there’s no potable water at the refuge.
