Refuge de la Femma
Refuge de la Femma is a backcountry alpine hut in the Vanoise massif, used for mountain trips in summer and in the colder season. The refuge offers a mix of on-site services and staffed periods, while outside the reception times a portion of the building is accessible but not staffed.
During staffed periods, the hut provides heating (wood) and includes bedding (duvets). It has 64 places total, with sleeping in rooms of 4, 6, and 20. In addition, there are showers and a cooking setup (a stove/plate).
When the hut is not guarded, use continues in a self-directed way via “hors gardiennage / the bivouac” approach; plan to contribute financially to help keep the refuge operating and stocked with essentials like heating fuel and gas.
