Refuge de la Perrière

Refuge de la Perrière is a non-guarded, open-access backcountry hut on the GR®738 in the Belledonne area near Arvillard. It sleeps 18 people on mattresses and is equipped with a wood stove and cooking gear.

Facilities are intentionally basic: there is drinking water available nearby, dry toilets outside, and a solar system for lighting and USB charging. Use is free in the sense that no booking is required, and it runs on first-come access; for maintenance, a voluntary contribution is available via a local support process.

Plan for autonomy and leave no trace: take a sleeping bag/liner appropriate for shared mattresses, bring your own personal items and water treatment as needed, and expect no fireplace and no shower facilities. The hut is kept open year-round (Toujours ouvert), but conditions on approach can vary—especially if access roads have disruptions after weather or rockfall.
