Refuge de la Valette
Refuge de la Valette is a backcountry refuge in the Vanoise National Park area (Vanoise massif), run through the park. At 2,590 m, it’s used for overnight stays including dormitory sleeping and authorized bivouac (with reservation).
The refuge sleeps 44 people and is equipped with showers (midday/evening). Use includes a “huts + services” model that alternates between guarded and unguarded periods. It’s open from mid/late-season each summer: the refuge is scheduled to open from Saturday 13 June (evening) through Saturday 12 September (inclusive), and when it closes, the refuge is non-guarded and the trails are closed from 15 September.
For services and planning, reservations are required to stay for the season’s meal service during periods when the refuge runs reserve-only for meals (notably mid-late summer). Contact the refuge team directly for the current booking and on-site arrangements; the refuge can be reached by phone and email via the official refuge page.
