Refuge de l'etang d'Araing
Refuge de l’Étang d’Araing is a backcountry alpine refuge in France at 1,965 m, placed on the GR10 at the foot of the pic du Crabère in the Ariège Pyrenees. It’s operated by the Club Alpin Français and is intended for hikers using the GR10 through this high route zone.
The refuge sleeps 52 and has drinking water. Use runs from June to September, and it takes cash or cheque for payment. Access for winter use is handled by contacting the caretaker by email listed for “info hiver” on the refuge’s information page.
