Refuge de Péclet-Polset

Refuge de Péclet-Polset is a Club Alpin Français backcountry refuge in the Vanoise (Haute Vanoise), at about 2479 m. It’s used as an overnight stop on the tour des glaciers de la Vanoise and also as a starting point for ascents of the dôme and the aiguille de Polset, the arêtes de Péclet, and several nearby summits (including pointe de l’Observatoire and cime des Planettes).

The refuge sleeps 84. During guarded periods, it has limited additional capacity (16 “out of guard” couch places). Water is available next to the refuge while the basin is not covered in snow; in winter you can melt snow. The accommodation period is mid-March to mid-April in winter and mid-June to mid-September in summer. Bivouac is not allowed around the refuge, and card payments are not accepted.
