Refuge de Pla Guillem

Refuge de Pla Guillem is a small, unguided backcountry refuge operated by Club Alpin Français (Prades Canigou) in the Canigou massif, at 2261 m. It has two rooms: one with a table and fireplace, and a second with 10 bunks on two levels, for a total of 20 beds. Use is centered on overnight shelter rather than staffed services, and the refuge includes a wood stove/fireplace setup but no cooking stove is provided.

It’s reachable via the approach described on the refuge’s site: it sits after the place called la Lipodère, on the way toward the col des Boucacers. Plan your arrival and provisions carefully—there may be limited water in summer (the source can dry up), there isn’t wood for fires right next to the refuge, and in winter conditions or fog it can be harder to find. The refuge is maintained and restored by volunteers (including a wood stove installation dating to 15.10.2022).
