Refuge de Plan Lombardie

Refuge de Plan Lombardie is a backcountry alpine hut in the Cheval Noir area, set at the foot of the mountain and reachable on foot in about 40 minutes. The refuge is set up for overnight stays or a meal stop, and it can also be used to organize group events such as family meals or celebrations.

The hut is guarded from May to October. Outside those guarded periods, part of the refuge can be used by reservation with the guardian to pick up keys. In winter, electricity and water are shut off; inside lighting is by electric lamps, and water can be collected from an outdoor basin about 20 m from the refuge. Reservations are recommended because the caretaker may leave for a short time to handle resupply.
