Refuge du Col du Petit Cucheron

Refuge du Col du Petit Cucheron is a non-guarded mountain hut for backcountry overnights in the Belledonne/Hurtières massif near Saint-Alban-d'Hurtières, at 1,228 m. It sleeps 4 with rustic mattresses in one room.

Use is free and it’s run on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservation system). Bring a sleeping bag; the hut has a wood stove for heat plus basic kitchen items and table seating, but there’s no running water on site—water is available nearby at the Source du col du petit cucheron (1110 m), with the flow described as very small in early August.
