Refuge du Gardien

Refuge du Gardien is a small backcountry refuge in Parcs régionaux de la MRC de Matawinie. It’s intended for reserved use by booked guests and sleeps up to 4 people (4 mattresses). Access is by hiking only: plan on a 2 km walk from the reception area to reach the refuge.

Inside, you’ll find a dry toilet, a wood stove (with wood included), and a table with chairs; bedding is not mentioned, so plan to bring what you need for your stay. Rules focus on firewood: use is limited to reduce depletion of the park’s wood supply—excess use can be charged—while dogs are admitted. The refuge door is locked; you receive the access code from the reservation center a few days before your stay.
